Central Scheduling Authorization Specialist
About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Authorization Specialist to join its Centralized Scheduling Department at the Crestline location. The role contacts payers to request service authorization and collects financial and/or demographic information from patients, along with clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Avita Health System serves the communities of Crawford and Richland counties through three hospitals and numerous clinic locations, and employs more than 2,300 team members and over 200 physicians and advanced practitioners.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- At least two years of experience in a healthcare setting performing related tasks.
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in healthcare or business administration and/or related coursework.
- Successful completion of courses in medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Experience with EPIC information systems.
