About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking an Authorization Specialist to join its Centralized Scheduling Department at the Crestline location. The specialist contacts payers to request service authorizations and collects financial or demographic information from patients, along with clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- At least two years of experience in a healthcare setting performing related tasks.
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in healthcare or business administration and/or related coursework.
- Successful completion of courses in medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Experience with EPIC information systems.
Responsibilities
