About The Position

Schedules and pre-registers patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other appointments captured by the department. Completes administrative work associated with scheduling appointments and transcribes external orders from physicians. Handles high call volumes for multiple locations and departments. This is a PRN (As needed) position. Training is a minimum of 6 weeks full-time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent OR (4) years of revenue cycle experience.
  • Minimum of (2) years of revenue cycle experience and/or (2) years of contact center experience.
  • Must pass the ALTA Language Services Qualified Bilingual Staff Assessment (QBS).
  • Excellent computer skills with the expectation to self-resolve technical issues with minimal assistance.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with customers require employees to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize multiple systems to perform all scheduling functions as needed.
  • Provide patients with preparation and location information.
  • Correctly collect and input patient data into the system.
  • Validate patient insurance and explain benefits as needed.
  • Manage multiple phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing between multiple parties.
  • Act as a mentor for new hires as needed.
  • Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
