The Central Scheduler is responsible for interacting with patients, providers, co-workers, and the general public in a pleasant and professional manner. This role involves utilizing a multiline phone system, assessing caller needs, and taking appropriate action. The scheduler will prepare and route messages within the electronic medical record system (EMR), schedule various types of appointments, obtain new patient information, and notify patients of appointment changes. Additionally, the role requires maintaining knowledge of insurance plans, verifying demographic and insurance information, communicating payment expectations, and assisting with medical records and data input. The Central Scheduler must also manage their EMR inbox and Outlook email, ensure continuous area and telephone coverage, and complete all assigned tasks and reports within deadlines, adhering to all company protocols, OSHA guidelines, and HIPAA policies.
