About The Position

Oversees sterile processing staff performing the processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies, ensuring efficient and safe patient care. Provides supervision for sterile processing staff and oversees the daily activities and scheduling of the team. Ensures adherence to safety standards and quality metrics for processing and providing sterilized instruments needed for patient care. Monitors compliance with sterilization policies and procedures and record keeping. Coordinates training and evaluation of instrument technicians. Serves as a resource and model, assisting as needed. Maintains Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) Instrument Tracking System files and reports and collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure that sterile instruments and equipment are available when needed. Coordinates the repair of critical patient care items and instrumentation. Maintains assigned work areas and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Working knowledge of the standards of infection control.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, preferred.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), preferred.
  • Three years of instrument or case cart processing experience or operating room experience, preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferred.
  • Experience as a sterile processing technician, preferred.
