About The Position

The Central Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating customer orders, scheduling trucks and drivers, and ensuring timely and efficient deliveries from various plant locations. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations by communicating with customers, drivers, plant personnel, and management to help maintain smooth workflow and quality service. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and a focus on customer service, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

  • Experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, construction materials, or ready-mix is a plus
  • Dispatch, logistics, or transportation experience preferred
  • Experience in the construction materials or ready-mix industry is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Answer a high volume of phone calls for order taking, verification, and customer support
  • Accurately enter customer orders into the dispatch system
  • Monitor driver progress throughout the day and make adjustments as needed to maintain on-time delivery
  • Communicate with customers regarding order status, delivery times, delays, and any changes
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, driver activity, and other relevant dispatch information
  • Respond to changes in production, customer demand, truck availability, or jobsite conditions
  • Support compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable transportation regulations
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
