About The Position

We are seeking a self-motivated, efficient, and responsible multitasker to join our team as a Central Customer Pharmacy Technician. In this role, you will communicate with patients to effectively provide medications, pull and package prescriptions, handle billing and credit card charges, and update patient information in the system. You will also assist in the management of other technician staff and coordinate inventory with the pharmacist. This position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to learn and grow within the pharmacy environment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate (or equivalent) is required.
  • Pharmacy Technician experience for at least 1 year is required.
  • Previous experience in pharmacy or other related Healthcare fields.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic math while analyzing data and generating reports.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Ability to abide by information security policies, employee handbook, and security and privacy regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Process and navigate prescriptions using computer software quickly and efficiently.
  • Perform high call volume tasks to coordinate patient deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized central pharmacy.
  • Complete insurance verification.
  • Apply manufacturers coupons where applicable.
  • Assist the pharmacist in queue management to create efficiencies.
  • Assist in the management and training of other pharmacy technicians.
  • Actively monitor that proper billing procedures are being implemented.
  • Communicate with patients to effectively provide medications, pull and package prescriptions, bill and charge credit cards, and update patient information in the system.
  • Provide after-hour support.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
