About The Position

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our central fill team at Sandstone Enhanced Care Solutions in Calgary, AB. This role is crucial in ensuring patient safety through accurate and high-quality preparation and release of medications. The position involves transcribing prescriptions, processing them by entering orders, counting, measuring, compounding, and packaging medications, and performing final checks for accuracy and safety. The technician will also maintain accurate patient records, oversee Pharmacy Assistants, and collaborate with healthcare providers and other pharmacies.

Requirements

Licensed and in good standing with Alberta College of Pharmacists
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a team environment

Responsibilities

Receive and accurately transcribe verbal prescriptions from healthcare providers
Ensure patient safety through accurate and high-quality preparation and release of medications
Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies
Process prescriptions by entering orders, counting, measuring, compounding, and packaging medications
Perform final checks on prepared prescriptions for accuracy and safety
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
Oversee Pharmacy Assistants to ensure efficient and safe prescription filling
