About The Position

This role involves managing various aspects of patient billing and financial interactions within the central business office. Responsibilities include billing insurance companies, addressing patient billing inquiries, managing account reviews for collections or resubmissions, preparing financial contracts, and accurately posting payments and allowances.

Requirements

  • Mathematical skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages
  • Bookkeeping skills of reconciling and debit/credit functions are necessary
  • Requires negotiating and communication skills along with the use of good judgement
  • Minimum of one month on the job training prior to assuming responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in insurance billing, handling money and one year office setting experience preffered

Responsibilities

  • Bills professional and hospital claims to appropriate insurance companies
  • Answers any questions a patient or their representative may have concerning their bill
  • Reviews accounts to be placed with a collection agency or to be resubmitted to an insurance company
  • Prepares financial contracts for payment arrangements
  • Posts payments and contractual allowances and all information contained on a payment EOB and all information contained on a non-payment EOB
