About The Position

Cameron Hospital is a 25-bed, independent, not-for-profit facility that proudly serves Angola and Steuben County. This role is responsible for scheduling outpatient appointments and pre-registering patients for their appointments according to established clinical guidelines, insurance regulations and regulatory requirements. It also involves completing appointment scheduling with subsequent order entry, medical necessity checking and pre-certification screening.

Requirements

Typing/keyboard knowledge.
General Computer knowledge
Ability to multitask and work in fast-paced environment
Two years scheduling in the Medical Field
Clerical and phone skills.
Good written and verbal communication
Data entry
Excellent customer service and phone skills.
High school graduate

Nice To Haves

Medical Terminology preferred

Responsibilities

Schedules non-emergency services.
Collects pre-admission information and pre-registers patients per the schedule.
Verifies all scheduled procedures have a valid physician’s order, if not, an order is obtained.
Communicate with ancillary departments regarding schedule availability.
Provides back up for pre-registration/pre-authorization as needed.
Reviews all procedures, emails and updates as needed.
Checks for medical necessity.
