About The Position

For more than 60 years, PRS, now HopeLink Behavioral Health, has provided comprehensive and specialized support to individuals and families living with behavioral health challenges or facing a life crisis. We envision a society where hope is universal. Through access to quality behavioral health, crisis intervention, and suicide intervention services, we foster an inclusive community in which everyone can attain wellness and a genuine sense of belonging. The Central Access Team provides one access point for referrals to all HopeLink Services and for all individuals inquiring about services. Under the direction of the Director of Central Access, the Central Access Clinician responds to referrals and inquiries for all HopeLink services, admission to services, and ensures the completion of initial and annual clinical needs assessments for all Medicaid-funded HopeLink programs. Clinicians address level of need based on assessment, complete authorizations and attestations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling or related field with significant work experience.
  • Licensed Mental Health Provider (LMHP) or eligible as evidenced by being registered with the Department of Health Professions required.
  • Knowledge of Licensure requirements, CARF standards and Medicaid regulations.
  • Experience working with persons with mental illness, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High degree of empathy toward individuals with mental illness, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of evidence-based practices.
  • Demonstrate the ability to diagnose signs and symptoms of mental illness, co-occurring disorders and strategies to effectively treat and manage symptoms.
  • Demonstrate ability to implement motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness exercises.
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team, families, and other health care providers.
  • Complete clinical documentation requirements per SOPs.
  • Complete two assessments per day except on phone duty days.
  • Establish contact with referral sources and/or clients referred within 72 hours of referral and complete assessments within 72 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates intake process for clients seeking services at HopeLink with clients, referral sources, significant others and/or other health care providers.
  • Completes required community-based intake and annual assessments as determined by program and Department of Medical Assistance to include determining a DSM/ICD10 diagnosis.
  • Completes DMAS initial authorizations, continued stay authorizations and attestations for programs requiring that.
  • Collaborates with external and internal providers to ensure those seeking treatment find the appropriate services at HopeLink or are referred to other community providers.
  • Collaborates with internal providers to ensure annual assessments are completed on time and have information provided by direct service staff.
  • Provides crisis intervention and develops safety plans.
  • Refers clients for emergency evaluation if risk issues warrant a more intensive level of care during the intake process.
  • Maintain clinical documentation as required by CARF, Licensure and Medicaid.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in performance of duties and/or other duties as assigned.
