About The Position

Position is Temp-to-Hire. Candidates will start through the agency and after a 3-month probation they will be evaluated based on their performance, productivity, safety, and quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES Under general supervision, must exercise knowledge to perform a variety of job duties relating to the proficient set-up of Centerless Grind machines including but not limited to: Review router to determine setup, tooling and specifications of parts Ability to select and place abrasive grind wheel and make appropriate adjustments Perform set-up and operation of machines effectively and within specified time frames Provide information for Inspector evaluation and validation of quality Meet quality, production and re-work targets in assigned work area by inspecting parts during production to ensure they are produced to required dimension s and conform to all specifications. Utilization of Statistical Process Control (SPC) as needed Utilization of AIC Job Clock System as needed Adhere to all AIC company policies Other duties as assigned In addition to the above, Operators are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices. Management may change responsibilities and/or assignments to meet the business needs without prior notice. AIC follows an At-Will Employment practice First Shift begins at 3:15am - 3:30pm Summary As a Centerless Grind Operator, you will be essential in the manufacturing process, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and machining skills to produce precision components. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will operate centerless grinding machines, ensuring adherence to quality standards through the use of calipers and micrometers. Your foundational understanding of basic math, algebra, and geometry will support your ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections. With a commitment to safety and efficiency, you will contribute significantly to our production goals in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED, and certificate from a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to verbally communicate effectively.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
  • Ability to read and interpret router instructions and specifications.
  • Properly use calipers, micrometers, comparators, microscopes and other gauge measuring tools.
