About The Position

Become a part of our caring community The Preceptor is responsible for supporting the training, onboarding, and mentoring clinical support staff across assigned clinics within the market. This role supports the consistent implementation of clinical workflows, patient care standards, and operational procedures. The Preceptor provides hands-on instruction, coaching, and competency validation for new and existing staff, while partnering with clinic leadership to ensure alignment with organizational policies, quality standards, and patient experience expectations. The Preceptor work assignments are often straightforward and of moderate complexity. Provides comprehensive onboarding and training for new staff, ensuring understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and workflows. Serves as a professional role model by demonstrating organizational values, clinical competence, and strong customer service. Observes staff performance, delivers constructive feedback, and supports ongoing skill development. Partners with leadership and education teams to maintain alignment with training goals and regulatory standards. Maintains accurate documentation of preceptorship activities, staff progress, and required training records. Fosters a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement, and adherence to compliance, safety, and confidentiality standards. Functions as a dedicated, market‑based resource supporting multiple centers outside of regular staffing. Selects and utilizes appropriate instructional materials and methods. Creates an engaging learning environment that supports effective knowledge transfer and achievement of training outcomes. Reviews and analyzes course evaluations to assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements. Evaluates and integrates relevant online learning resources to enhance the overall training experience. Understands own work area professional concepts/standards, regulations, strategies and operating standards. Make decisions regarding own work approach/priorities and follows direction. Work is managed and often guided by precedent and/or documented procedures/regulations/professional standards with some interpretation.

Requirements

  • Relevant clinical certification (e.g. Medical Assistant, LPN or other based on market requirements)
  • 3+ years of experience in a clinic or ambulatory care environment
  • Prior lead experience as an MA or experience training core clinic roles in a value based care environment
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and coach staff internally and externally
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) and/or health information management (HIM) systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • High level of engagement, emotional intelligence, and commitment to patient centered service
