About The Position

Grifols is seeking a full-time Center Medical Specialist for a plasma donation center. The role is intended for an EMT, paramedic, or LPN and involves evaluating donor suitability, supporting donor safety and satisfaction, managing adverse events, and assisting with employee training and vaccination programs. The position is based at the Winter Haven, Florida center.

Requirements

Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have current CPR certification.
Be able to perform work both standing and sitting for 2 to 4 hours per day each.
Be able to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day.
Have frequent hand movement in both hands and the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
Be able to make precise, coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
Have frequent foot movement.
Be able to occasionally walk, bend, and twist at the waist; squatting, crouching, or sitting on one's heels may be required on rare occasions.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability is preferred.
LPN qualification is listed as an eligible background for the role.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Protect the confidentiality of donors and staff.
Inform donors about potential hazards.
Educate donors about general health and counsel them regarding unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
Assist with employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
