EMT or LPN for Plasma Donation Center

About The Position

Grifols is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a plasma donation center. The Center Medical Specialist helps determine donor suitability, supports donor safety and satisfaction, evaluates and manages injuries and adverse events, and contributes to employee training and the Hepatitis Vaccine program. Work is performed in a plasma center and includes exposure to biological fluids, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold while working in plasma freezers. The role requires personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-weather gear. Salary is based on licensure and experience.

Requirements

Be educated and currently licensed or certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment, in accordance with state requirements.
Current CPR certification is required.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and understand spoken information.
Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions.
Ability to perform varied tasks in changing conditions and communicate sensitive information to diverse groups.
Hearing acuity is essential.
Required vision includes correctable near and far vision to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other eye, and color perception/discrimination.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Protect donor and staff confidentiality.
Inform donors about potential hazards.
Educate donors about general health and counsel them regarding unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to determine continued donor suitability.
Assist with employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
