About The Position
Grifols is seeking an English/Spanish bilingual EMT, paramedic, LPN/LVN, or RN for a plasma donation center. The Center Medical Specialist assesses donor suitability, supports donor safety and education, responds to injuries and adverse events, and assists with employee training and the Hepatitis Vaccine program. Salary is based on licensure and experience.
Requirements
- Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current CPR certification.
- English/Spanish bilingual ability.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
- Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
- Make donors aware of potential hazards.
- Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling about unacceptable test results.
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
- Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
- Assist in employee training.
- Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
