About The Position

Grifols is hiring a Center Medical Specialist for a plasma donation center. The role is open to candidates with qualifying nursing, paramedic, or EMT credentials. Salary is based on licensure and experience. The position involves evaluating donor suitability, supporting donor safety and education, and assisting with employee training and vaccination programs. The work is performed in a plasma center and includes potential exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold in plasma freezers.

Requirements

Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Paramedic, or EMT.
Current CPR certification is required.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and to understand spoken information.
Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions.
Ability to perform a wide range of tasks in response to variable demands and changing conditions.
Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups.
Ability to meet the physical and sensory requirements described in the posting, including frequent hand and foot movement, lifting up to 50 pounds, and specified vision and hearing capabilities.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Maintain donor and staff confidentiality.
Inform donors about potential hazards.
Provide donors with general health education and counsel them regarding unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
Assist with employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
