Center Medical Specialist - EMT or Paramedic or LPN/LVN
About The Position
Grifols is seeking a Center Medical Specialist for a plasma donation center. The role may be filled by a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician, subject to state requirements. Salary is based on licensure and experience. The specialist assesses donor suitability through physical examinations and medical history reviews, supports donor safety and satisfaction, manages injuries and adverse events, and helps educate donors and train employees. The position also administers the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program. The position is located at the Charlotte, North Carolina, Freedom Drive plasma donation center. Requirements
- Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technician.
- Have current CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
- Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
- Inform donors about potential hazards.
- Provide donor education regarding general health and counsel donors about unacceptable test results.
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
- Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
- Assist in employee training.
- Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
