About The Position
Grifols is seeking a Center Medical Specialist for a plasma donation center. The role involves assessing donor suitability, supporting donor safety and satisfaction, managing donor injuries and adverse events, and assisting with employee training and health programs. The position is open to candidates licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT, according to state requirements. Salary is based on licensure and experience.
Requirements
- Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
- Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
- Ensure confidentiality of donor and staff information.
- Promote donor awareness of potential hazards.
- Educate donors regarding general health and counsel them about unacceptable test results.
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
- Evaluate histories of illness and medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
- Assist with employee training.
- Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
