About The Position

Grifols is seeking an EMT, Paramedic, or LPN to work as a Center Medical Specialist at a plasma donation center. The role involves assessing donor suitability and health, supporting donor safety and satisfaction, managing injuries and adverse events, and assisting with staff training and the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program. Salary is based on licensure and experience. The work is performed in a plasma center and may involve exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold in plasma freezers. Personal protective equipment is required for relevant tasks.

Requirements

Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, in accordance with state requirements, as an EMT, Paramedic, or LPN.
Hold current CPR certification.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and to understand spoken information.
Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions.
Ability to perform a wide range of tasks in response to variable demands and changing conditions.
Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups.
Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent hand and foot movement, and required visual and hearing acuity.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Ensure confidentiality of donor and staff information.
Inform donors about potential hazards.
Educate donors about general health and counsel them regarding unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
Assist in employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
