About The Position

Grifols is hiring a Center Medical Specialist for a plasma donation center. The role involves assessing donor suitability, supporting donor safety and education, managing injuries and adverse events, and assisting with employee training and the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program. The position is based at the Macon, Georgia donation center. Work is performed both standing and sitting, with frequent hand and foot movement and occasional bending, twisting, walking, squatting, or crouching.

Requirements

Currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as an Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
High school diploma or GED.
Current CPR certification.
Ability to perform work standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each.
Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day.
Frequent movement of both hands and ability to make fast, simple movements with the fingers, hands, and wrists.
Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
Frequent foot movement; ability to squat, crouch, or sit on one's heels on rare occasions; and occasional walking, bending, and waist twisting.

Responsibilities

Conduct physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Ensure confidentiality for donors and staff.
Inform donors about potential hazards.
Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling regarding unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate illness and medication histories to ensure continued donor suitability.
Assist with employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
