Carbon Health is seeking a full-time Center Medical Director (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to lead an urgent care center while remaining clinically engaged. The role includes approximately 30 hours per week of direct patient care and combines evidence-based urgent care with clinician leadership, development, and operational partnership. The Center Medical Director works closely with the Center Manager and Area Medical Director to build a collaborative clinical team and support patient care, quality, safety, and patient experience. The position provides urgent care to patients six months and older, treating a broad range of acute and chronic conditions appropriate to the setting. The medical director mentors and develops clinicians, participates in hiring and onboarding, reviews charts and clinical performance, addresses clinical concerns and complaints, and leads team meetings. They also partner with operational and medical leaders on staffing, scheduling, patient access, clinic performance, quality improvement, and community initiatives. Carbon Health describes its care model as combining clinical care, technology, and collaboration. Its proprietary EHR, CarbyOS, includes AI-powered tools such as hands-free documentation to help reduce administrative work. The role requires an active, unrestricted California medical license, BLS certification, and DOT certification before the start date; Carbon Health covers DOT course and examination fees and provides preparation resources.
