About The Position

Acts as the general manager at the donor center and has overall responsibility for the center’s operation. Work under the general guidance and oversight of the Regional Operations Manager. Manage the daily operations of the center, supervising operations and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Company Policies. Ensure the facility is in compliance with all applicable state, federal, consignees, and ABO designated regulations. Ensure donor suitability, product integrity, and continued good health of donors through the center’s compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, state regulations, the Standard Operating Procedure Manual guidelines of the Company, and any other applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) with 1-2 years relevant work experience or 4-5 years relevant work experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a regulatory industry required
  • 2-3 years minimum supervisory experience required
  • Certified in the Reception area, Donor Floor area, and Plasma Processing within 6 months of becoming a Center Manager
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills appropriate for all interactions with employees and donors.
  • Must be flexible to work in an ever-changing and fast-paced work environment.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate spreadsheet and database computer skills

  • Plasma Industry experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus
  • Travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and facilitating all center-specific day-to-day financials, such as donor incentives, bonus program payouts, petty cash, and certain center invoices.
  • Reporting to Quality Assurance any errors/incidents/events that may affect the safety, purity, identity, or quality of blood products.
  • Ensuring the center is audit-ready at all times.
  • Overseeing and reviewing operational activities, including ensuring all center operations, product storage, documentation, facility maintenance, quality control, and training are current and consistent with the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures Manual, current state and federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and any other internal Company procedures.
  • Periodic or regular review, as needed, of center documentation such as donor records, logs forms, proficiency testing, and equipment validations/qualifications to ensure compliance.
  • Regular review of operations and procedures to ensure compliance with all SOP, regulations, and internal company procedures, including competency evaluations of all center personnel.
  • Creating and actualizing a marketing plan for donor recruitment to meet and maintain the center’s goals.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the center’s facility management, such as working with the Landlord, facility vendors, site maintenance, etc.
  • Accountable for the adequacy of inventory of all goods and supplies necessary for center operations and oversee ordering as needed. Ensure sufficient inventory of critical supplies to avoid center critical interruptions.
  • Training and supervising personnel, including managing on-site personnel, scheduling, and day-to-day issues and concerns.
  • Assisting in employee training of the Company’s SOP and other regulations, and perform 6-month and annual observational assessments of all employees with a written report.
  • Partnering with Corporate HR in the hiring, disciplining, and termination of employees and maintenance of employee files.
  • Managing staff to ensure that training and quality goals are met and to implement operational changes and maximize center efficiency.
  • Reviewing, investigating, and responding to all issues, donor complaints, employee complaints, post-donation information, etc.
  • Receiving and reviewing all donor test results; processing all unacceptable results.
  • Maintaining NDDR access and data as a company manager.
  • Submitting donors into the NDDR and notifying state agencies about donors who have confirmed positive test results in accordance with SOP B 4.03 (External Agency Notification Regarding Permanently Deferred Donors).
  • Resolving any error corrections to the NDDR if data errors are discovered.
  • Abiding by the signed management confidentiality agreement, and ensuring that records and data printed from the NDDR are kept in a confidential area of the center or destroyed by shredding these printed records.
  • Overseeing product shipments.
  • Reacting to all security and freezer alarms or concerns that occur on or off-hours.
  • Conducting employee training of the Company’s SOP and other regulations.
  • Troubleshooting problems and problem-solving as needed.
  • Mentoring employees to take on more challenging roles and responsibilities and generally guiding the process of employee development to ensure succession plans are in place.
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and as otherwise posted or communicated.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.
