The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a Centre Manager for the University of Alberta's Centre for Hydrogen Innovation, Workforce Development and Outreach [https://www.ualberta.ca/en/centre-hydrogen-innovation-workforce-development-outreach/index.html]. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will serve as the key strategic and operational resource responsible for strategic execution, financial integrity, and administrative compliance. The Manager's role is to interface between the extensive internal network of UofA hydrogen researchers and the external network of government, industry, and funding partners, supporting the Director in translating the Center's tripartite mandate—Innovation, Workforce Development, and Outreach—into measurable outcomes. This position operates within the administrative structure of the University of Alberta, navigating the relationship between the academic Centre, centralized Shared Services, and individual researchers supporting hydrogen work within all Engineering Departments and Faculties across campus (Science, ALES, Arts, Education, etc.). The role is instrumental in ensuring operational excellence and strategic resource deployment by driving business development, networking, and securing strategic funding (e.g., large, sponsored research projects and program envelopes through funding sources like MITACS), all necessary to deliver on Alberta’s Hydrogen Roadmap pillars and achieve the University’s vision for global energy transition.
