This role is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, attending to special requests, and promoting the image of the restaurant through impeccable manners and diplomacy. The position also involves communicating with superiors, maintaining positive employee relationships, and participating in daily briefings and training sessions. Additionally, the role ensures the proper functioning of the Opentable System, maintains menu standards, and assists with table setup and cleaning.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Greets guests upon arrival, according to IHG standards.
Answers telephone communications and takes reservations.
Attends to special guests’ requests.
Promotes the image of the restaurant by displaying impeccable manners, diplomacy, and tact towards restaurant/hotel guests.
Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest comments, and other relevant information.
Communicates politely and displays courtesy to guests.
Follows the procedure on cash handling and bill presentation to guests.
Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships.
Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled.
Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled.
Checks to ensure that the Opentable System is running properly during and before service.
Ensures that all menus are checked and clean and informs the manager if more menus are needed.
Greets every guest with a warm welcome in the appropriate area of entrance.
Helps guests with their chairs.
Presents an open menu to each guest and a clean wine list to every table.
During breakfast service, presents the breakfast menu and the two options (buffet/a la carte) and promotes the buffet and mentions the server’s name.
Wishes the guest a pleasant meal.
Offers a parting comment as the guest exits the restaurant.
Performs duties noted on the daily tasks & cleaning schedule.
Assists in table cleaning and set up when available.
Performs other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned.
Complies with all workplace health and safety requirements, including any department-specific training regarding equipment and procedures.
Assists in maintaining the restaurant in all areas.
Implements the hotel and department regulations, policies, and procedures including but not limited to House Rules and Regulation, Health and Safety, Grooming, Quality, Service, and Hygiene and Cleanliness.
