About The Position

This is a full-time, 163-day position for the 2026-2027 School Year, located at the Lincoln School of Science and Technology. The role involves working with multiple grade-level students and sensitive material, implementing schedules and routines under the direction of a supervising teacher, and meeting the educational, physical, and emotional needs of assigned students. Additional responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality of student information, executing instructional programs, assisting with student mobility and medical tasks, and providing physical and sensory support. The position also requires adherence to district and school handbooks and may involve classroom subbing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students, and the public.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Pass pre-employment physical.
  • MANDT Training to be completed upon hire.
  • Willingness to obtain a substitute teaching license, if needed (paid for by district).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency on paraprofessional assessment.
  • Possess an AA Degree, or the equivalent of two years of undergraduate college classes (approximately 48 hours).
  • Experience in Lindamood Bell.

Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple grade-level students and sensitive material.
  • Demonstrate reliability in all work situations.
  • Present a professional appearance personally and in the work area.
  • Promote and maintain positive working relationships with peers, students, parents, and the public.
  • Be knowledgeable about the job and strive to stay on task and produce high-quality work.
  • Under the direction of the supervising teacher, implement schedules and routines.
  • Work 1-to-1, in small groups, or in full-classroom settings.
  • Complete and perform clerical tasks.
  • Support school-wide and classroom management plans.
  • Meet the educational, physical, and emotional needs of a variety of students assigned.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively.
  • May include outside supervision in inclement weather.
  • Assist with supervisory, clerical, or other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the district classified handbook and the school staff handbook.
  • May be asked to sub in classrooms when needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with all special education student information.
  • Execute instructional programs as directed by special education teachers.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group reinforcement of lessons introduced by teachers.
  • Assist with student mobility, including wheelchair maneuvers and secure transfers.
  • Perform medical tasks such as tube feeding, catheterization, and toileting as needed.
  • Prepare and assist students with meals and related tasks to support IEP communication, sensory integration, and physical goals.
