About The Position

This position will be based out of the Anchorage or Palmer, AK offices and will primarily be a ‘Field Assignment Position’ within the state of Alaska. It will report to the corresponding Program Manager or site-specific designee. The Cement/Concrete Foreman oversees concrete crews and ensures all concrete placement, finishing, forming, and related activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role includes daily crew supervision, scheduling, coordination, and technical leadership on concrete construction tasks. This position requires 75% travel; hours worked while in travel status could be up to 12 hours per day. Please note this is a seasonal position. The pay rate for this position is $40.00/hour Admin Rate.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience leading concrete or structural crews.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete work: forming, reinforcing, pouring, finishing, and curing.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
  • Experience coordinating crews and managing schedules.
  • Knowledge of concrete tools and equipment; ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access.
  • Valid driver’s license, with a cleaning driving record and the ability to be insured per company policy

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience with concrete flatwork, including layout, form systems, reinforcement placement, pouring, finishing, and curing.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of concrete mix designs, slump testing, finishing techniques, and quality control standards.
  • Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all concrete crew activities, including forming, pouring, placing, and finishing of concrete (including the use of hand and power tools).
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure work is performed accurately and meets quality standards.
  • Plan and organize daily work activities, allocate labor efficiently, and ensure required tools, equipment, and materials are available.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of concrete flatwork, including layout, grading, finishing techniques, and quality control.
  • Monitor concrete quality, including mix designs, slump, placement methods, and curing processes.
  • Ensure jobsite safety by enforcing company policies and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other trades to coordinate work and resolve issues.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise crew members to promote productivity, quality workmanship, and professional development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to concrete placement, equipment operation, scheduling, and production challenges.
  • Mixed construction crew.
