About The Position

This position will be based out of the Anchorage or Palmer, AK offices and will primarily be a ‘Field Assignment Position’ within the state of Alaska. It will report to the corresponding Program Manager or site-specific designee. The Cement/Concrete Finisher is responsible for placing, finishing, and repairing concrete on a variety of construction projects. This includes preparing surfaces, applying finishing techniques, setting forms, and ensuring completed concrete work meets quality standards. This position requires 75% travel; hours worked while in travel status could be up to 12 hours per day. The pay rate for this position is $30/hour Admin Rate. Please note this is a full-time seasonal position.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Cement/Concrete Finisher
  • Knowledge of various finishing techniques (broom finish, smooth, stamp, exposed aggregate).
  • Ability to read grade stakes and follow layout lines.
  • Skilled with hand and power finishing tools.
  • Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access.
  • Valid driver’s license, with a cleaning driving record and the ability to be insured per company policy

Responsibilities

  • Place, level, and finish concrete for slabs, sidewalks, curbs, foundations, and other structures.
  • Use hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, screeds, and edgers.
  • Set, align, and remove forms as needed.
  • Apply curing compounds and ensure proper curing processes.
  • Repair existing concrete by patching, resurfacing, or grinding.
  • Ensure surface textures, slopes, and finishes meet project requirements.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow all jobsite safety standards and procedures.
