About The Position

Join Apple’s Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems organization as an engineer on the Cellular Software team. The role involves working across layers on cellular technologies, identifying or developing core technologies that address everyday connectivity needs for customers using iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and other wireless products. The team develops cellular protocol software and aims to improve user experience and challenge traditional cellular ecosystem models. Engineers may work on SIM, NAS, AS, and iOS interfaces to develop solutions to cellular problems. The role impacts iPhone user experience worldwide and requires expertise across multiple cellular protocol layers, with experience in UE and/or network protocol development for various 3GPP technologies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent degree.
• Critical expertise in multiple layers of cellular protocols.
• Experience with UE and/or network protocol development for various 3GPP technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in cellular protocols or wireless software development.
• Experience in Non-Access Stratum (NAS).
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Identify and/or develop core cellular technologies for Apple wireless products.
• Work across layers on cellular protocol software, including SIM, NAS, AS, and iOS interfaces.
• Develop solutions that improve the cellular user experience and address connectivity problems.
• Contribute to cellular protocol technologies affecting iPhone users worldwide.
