About The Position

Riff Music School is hiring a cello teacher to teach students using its fun, song-based Riff Lesson Curriculum. The teacher will inspire students through music they enjoy while developing technique, theory, and creativity, and will serve as a mentor and motivator throughout their musical journey. Lessons may be private or semi-private, with potential teaching hours Monday through Thursday from 2–9 PM and on weekends. The position is part-time, up to 30 hours per week. Teachers support students as they prepare for performances and recording opportunities, create an encouraging learning environment, collaborate with colleagues, and may contribute to band programs, camps, and special events. Riff provides students, scheduling, billing, and parent correspondence. The school offers modern studios, performance rooms, professional-grade instruments, and recording studio access.

Requirements

Proficiency in teaching cello.
Ability to adapt to different learning styles, ages, and musical interests.
Strong communication skills and a student-first mindset.
Strong organizational skills.
A growth-oriented attitude and desire to continue developing as a teacher and musician.

Nice To Haves

Ability to teach multiple instruments.
Previous teaching experience is preferred.
