About The Position

Ruger Firearms is hiring an entry-level Water Spider to support and maintain machinery on production lines. The position involves maintaining CNC machines, retrieving parts for the line, checking coolant levels and percentages, removing metal chips from machines, and maintaining daily parts inventory. The Water Spider also assists with quarterly inventory and performs other duties as necessary. The role requires visual alertness, hand dexterity, attention to detail, flexibility, and adaptability to changing assignments. On-the-job training is available for motivated candidates. Starting wage is based on experience and shift. Associates are eligible for quarterly profit sharing, and off shifts include additional shift differential pay.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass a background screen and drug screen.
• Visual alertness, hand dexterity, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changes in assignments.
• Willingness to work overtime and an occasional Saturday, if required.
• Skills and competencies include attention to detail, communication, taking initiative, mechanical aptitude, time management, dependability, teamwork, and flexibility.

Nice To Haves

• Previous machine operator experience or experience in a high-volume, medium-mix manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma (preferred but not required).
• Experience with lean manufacturing, daily Kaizen participation, or a high-volume manufacturing environment.
