In this role, you will support continuous improvement activities within the defined processes through observations, interactions, and basic problem-solving activities with employees in the Gemba. Requirements

  • Requires minimum of 5 years of experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
  • Requires advanced knowledge within a specific discipline typically gained through broad work experience and/or education.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • U.S. work authorization sponsorship (H-1B, TN, J, etc.) is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above, where specialized expertise aligns with long-term business needs. Roles below the Principal level require candidates to possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Review each area’s standardized work / best practices.
  • Compare current method of operation with one-best-way.
  • Provide coaching to team when deviation is evident
  • Review Pitch Tracker for area. If pitch goals are achieved, no action is necessary. If pitch goals are not reached, provide comments, communicate and escalate, as necessary.
  • When abnormal conditions are evident, align with team around the appropriate countermeasure(s) path.
  • Provide coaching and barrier resolution for team/area.
  • With out-going shift Team Leader, communicate the current conditions of the area/line.
  • Understand current challenges and countermeasure efforts.
  • Use info to plan your shift.
  • Based on present attendance, assign assembler personnel to decided processes/areas.
  • Lead Tier 1 – ‘Production’ meeting with assembler personnel.
  • Communicate assignments and current conditions within area.
  • Gemba area of responsibility to ensure each process can successfully begin production operations.
  • Ensure all items are in place to successful start-up the shift.
  • Attend Tier 1 – ‘Support’ meeting.
  • As necessary, communicate area/line specific information with meeting team.
  • Each day investigate at least one problem to solve from the Pitch Tracker.
  • Engage assembler(s), from impacted area/process to support Point Kaizen (problem solving)
  • Each day walk the area with supervisor.
  • Cover the health and status of the area.
  • Receive coaching from your supervisor, as necessary.
  • Complete 5-Why form and align to correct countermeasure plan
  • Implement countermeasure(s) (24 hour resolution)
  • Not all countermeasures are workable within 24 hours, communicate and escalate any help necessary to accelerate needed solution(s)
  • Submit Point Kaizen for credit on Tempe SharePoint
  • Follow-up on implemented countermeasures
