About The Position

This position is responsible for the visual inspection of parts and preparation of parts for aging or shipping as they exit the solution furnace. The role involves ensuring parts meet quality standards through meticulous visual inspection and adherence to work instructions. The Cell Inspector will also be responsible for maintaining equipment levels, identifying defects, completing necessary paperwork, and communicating quality issues to supervisors and colleagues. A key aspect of this role is actively participating in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No experience necessary
  • Ability to use snap gauges, wire cutters, pencil, and calculator
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to schedules
  • Ability to work safely and keep area clean
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work assigned shift and remain awake and alert during assigned shift is required
  • Reporting to work for assigned shift, maintaining a physical presence and performing assigned work for the duration of assigned shift is required
  • Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely and achieve intended objectives
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments which may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, and all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 100% visual inspection of parts going into an ager basket or shipping box.
  • Follow work instructions on inspecting parts.
  • Maintain media, soap, and part washer levels by visual inspection and add when needed.
  • Understand proper levels of media and soap in equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Identify defects/non-conforming marks in the forged parts.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork such as shop orders, daily checklists, routing sign offs, etc.
  • Understand proper loading of baskets or shipping boxes.
  • Identify parts for scrap or re-polish.
  • Identify the different parts, alloys, and areas for scrap.
  • Maintain daily timekeeping and job orders on computer system.
  • Understands operation of cell.
  • Notify Supervisor and cell employees on any quality issues that arise on the parts produced through the cell.
  • Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of work-related accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.
