This role is well‑suited for a recent graduate or early‑career professional looking to gain hands‑on experience in cell culture and bioprocessing within a laboratory environment. The Cell Culture Engineer will support routine laboratory operations, assist with bioreactor setup and maintenance, and execute cell culture studies in small‑scale and pilot‑scale labs under established procedures and team guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in a science‑related field
  • Hands‑on experience performing cell culture studies in a small‑scale or pilot‑scale laboratory environment
  • Experience assembling, disassembling, cleaning, and washing bioreactors , including associated parts and probes
  • Familiarity with the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of small‑scale and pilot‑scale bioreactors
  • Experience in inoculating, feeding, and sampling bioreactors and shake flasks
  • Experience in maintaining routine cell culture passages
  • Experience running samples on analytical equipment and compiling data and results
  • Exposure to aseptic techniques , including batching media, autoclaving bioreactors, and calibrating probes
  • Proficiency in navigating process control and data acquisition software (e.g., MFCS, DeltaV, ambr) and monitoring trends
  • Experience documenting work in an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN)
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine daily maintenance and management of laboratory‑based equipment
  • Assist with setup, operation, and basic upkeep of small‑scale and pilot‑scale bioreactors
  • Support and execute cell culture experiments according to established protocols
  • Prepare media, perform sampling, and support general lab activities
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for scheduled equipment maintenance
  • Follow SOPs, safety requirements, and proper laboratory documentation practices
  • Accurately document work and communicate results or issues to the broader team
