CEI Senior Project Engineer
About The Position
AECOM is seeking a highly experienced CEI Senior Project Engineer to support and oversee a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects within the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida region. This role will be responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and construction engineering inspection support to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and schedules. The position involves directing a complex construction engineering administration and inspection program, planning and organizing work, developing and reviewing policies and procedures, and ensuring conformance with Department standards. The role requires performing complex duties with advanced techniques and a broad knowledge of engineering principles, and assuming lead responsibilities for a team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
- As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
- US Citizenship is required
- Professional Engineer (PE) and the ability to obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six months of Project NTP if registered in another state

- Six years of engineering experience, two of those years involved in relevant transportation projects
Responsibilities
- Directing a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
- Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members
- Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures
- Reviewing programs for conformance with Department standards
- Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit
- Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative
- Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues
- Directing a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
- Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members
- Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures
- Reviewing programs for conformance with Department standards
- Under minimal supervision, performs complex duties utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and methods
- Assumes lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support staff
