About The Position

GFT is seeking a CEI Sr. Inspector to join our Construction Services Team in Tampa, FL. This role inspects and oversees construction work to ensure that results, procedures, and materials comply with plans and specifications. This role will serve as a daily point of contact with clients and contractors, and manage all aspects of a project including construction observations, material testing, and maintaining documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying levels, alignment, and elevation of installations, preparing samples of materials for laboratory testing, examining workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approving installation, interpreting plans and specifications for contractors and discussing deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction, recording quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, developing pay estimates and change orders, maintaining a daily log of construction and inspection activities and comparing progress reports, monitoring several types of work activity, and maintaining construction safety practices and work methods for compliance. The role also involves managing documents using electronic platforms such as MAC, PrC, and Procore.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 4+ years progressive experience in construction of roadways and transportation facilities, and/or infrastructure.
  • A safety-first mindset.
  • Strong writing, listening and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years' professional experience in construction of Roadway Projects and FDOT Standards.

Responsibilities
