Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years' professional experience in construction of Roadway Projects and FDOT Standards.
  • High school diploma.
  • 4+ years progressive experience in construction of roadways and transportation facilities, and/or infrastructure.
  • A safety-first mindset.
  • Strong writing, listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and oversees construction work to ensure that results, procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.
  • Serve as a daily point of contact with clients and contractors, and manage all aspects of a project including construction observations, material testing and maintaining documentation.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
  • Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
  • Examine workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approves installation.
  • Interpret plans and specifications for Contractor and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
  • Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, develop pay estimates and change orders.
  • Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.
  • Monitor several types of work activity.
  • Maintain construction safety practices and work methods for compliance.
  • Manage documents using electronic platforms such as MAC, PrC and Procore.
