CEI Inspector
About The Position
Egis is seeking a CEI Inspector for the Kansas market. The inspector observes and monitors field work to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents; checks lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard field measuring equipment; and documents daily work activities and pay items in Site Manager. The role includes observing highway work zones and traffic control setups, reporting potential issues, and testing or sampling materials. The inspector works under the direct supervision of a Field Project Engineer, Senior Inspector, or Resident Engineer. Additional responsibilities may be assigned, including working at night.
Requirements
- High school graduate with some state-required certification courses.
- At least 4 years of experience inspecting roadway and/or bridge construction.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including calculating areas and volumes.
- Ability to read road and bridge construction plans.
- Level 1B Hot Mix certification.
- ACI concrete field testing certification.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience documenting daily activities and pay items in Site Manager.
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
