About The Position

GAI Consultants is seeking an Inspector (CEI) based out of our Jacksonville, FL
office for an immediate opening for ongoing projects.  Under the direction of
the CEI Project Administrator, the inspector's duties are primarily overseeing
the contractor's work to assure compliance with plans and specifications. For
this opportunity, good public relations, communication skills and the ability to
collaborate with others are required.

Requirements

• Minium of two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which includes bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
• CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
• CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
• FDOT Intermediate MOT
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to work in rough terrain found on construction sites.
• Must be capable of walking in steep varying terrain in all climate conditions.
• Must be able to drive.

Nice To Haves

• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
• CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures)
• IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
• CTQP Final Estimates Level I

Responsibilities

• Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
• Coordinating with and taking instructions from other senior inspection staff.
• Interpret plans and specs.
• Monitor contractor's work for compliance with contract documents.
• Construction documentation including written reports and taking photos of onsite operations.
• Tracking site quantities including construction math computation.
• Permit compliance verification.
• Materials verification including taking field samples at required frequencies.
