About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Inspector to be based in San Antonio, Texas. This role involves planning and accomplishing goals using experience and judgment, setting project deadlines, and managing time effectively. The Inspector will provide on-the-job training to new employees and mentor junior staff on best practices and compliance. Key responsibilities include monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements through daily field inspections, maintaining comprehensive records, and participating in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities. The role also involves tracking quality assurance progress, identifying corrective actions, providing input for turnovers, and preparing final inspection reports. Verification of material certifications, test results, and supplier documentation is crucial. The Inspector will coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders, communicate inspection findings, resolve field issues, and maintain awareness of project schedules and budgets, reporting any impacts related to quality or inspection concerns. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements, and reporting hazards or violations are also key duties.

Requirements

HS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid Driver License required.

Nice To Haves

10+ years of relevant TxDOT construction inspection experience.
TxDOT Site Manager or AASHTOWare Project software experience.
TxAPA Level 1A and 1B certification.
ACI Grade 1 and strength test certification.

Responsibilities

Performs daily field inspections and maintains comprehensive inspection records, documentation, and reports.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure project completion and handover readiness.
Tracks quality assurance progress and identifies corrective actions for non-conformances.
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers and prepares final inspection reports.
Verifies material certifications, test results, and supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Coordinates with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate inspection findings and resolve field issues.
Maintains awareness of project schedules and budgets, reporting any impacts related to quality or inspection concerns.
Ensures compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements on job sites and reports safety hazards or violations.
