About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Inspector to be based in San Antonio, Texas. This role involves monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. The Inspector will perform daily field inspections, maintain comprehensive inspection records, documentation, and reports. They will also participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure project completion and handover readiness. The role includes tracking quality assurance progress, identifying corrective actions for non-conformances, and providing input for area and equipment turnovers, as well as preparing final inspection reports. Additionally, the Inspector will verify material certifications, test results, and supplier documentation, coordinate with project managers and contractors, and maintain awareness of project schedules and budgets, reporting any impacts related to quality or inspection concerns. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • HS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid Driver License required.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of relevant TxDOT construction inspection experience.
  • TxDOT Site Manager or AASHTOWare Project software experience.
  • TxAPA Level 1A and 1B certification.
  • ACI Grade 1 and strength test certification.

Responsibilities

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Responsible for setting own project deadlines and managing time effectively to meet project milestones.
  • Provides on the job training to new employees and mentors junior inspection staff on best practices and compliance procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements on job sites and reports safety hazards or violations.
