A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) truck driver plays a crucial role in the transportation and logistics industry. The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. There will be up to two nights over the road that will take place two to five times out of the year.

Requirements

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Clean driving record
  • Minimum of two years experience as a truck driver, preferably with long-haul driving
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Willingness to tarp and strap flatbed loads
  • Experience operating trailer mounted forklift
  • Familiarity with electronic equipment and software, such as GPS and AVL units
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including loading and unloading cargo
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Transport goods to various destinations, often across state lines
  • Load, secure, and unload cargo safely
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of working hours and miles driven
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies
  • Route Planning: Use GPS and other tools to plan efficient routes
  • Coordinate with dispatchers and communicate effectively with clients and co-workers
  • Monitor traffic and weather conditions to ensure safe driving practices
