Waste Management, Inc. (WM)•Grand Rapids, MI

About The Position

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with load-lift attachments and transport waste or recyclable materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Roll-off drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. The work includes navigating busy roadways, driveways, alleyways, lots, and, on industrial routes, tight overhead environments; skilled backing maneuvers are essential. Drivers may also need to maneuver wheeled containers weighing more than 1,000 pounds. This is a safety-sensitive role. Drivers must follow company safety rules and applicable OSHA, DOT, and local, state, and federal requirements. They perform vehicle inspections, report safety or service issues, follow assigned routes, complete end-of-day documentation, and help meet customer needs. The posting states that drivers are home at night and on weekends and describes opportunity for advancement and paid on-the-job training.
