About The Position

WM is hiring a Roll-Off CDL Driver to prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. Drivers operate heavy-duty vehicles and transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. The work includes navigating driveways, alleyways, lots, congested roadways, and potentially tight overhead environments on industrial routes; skilled backing maneuvers are essential. Drivers provide reliable customer service and are expected to operate vehicles and equipment safely. The posted shift is 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays, and the role is described as home daily. Drivers must follow WM safety rules and applicable OSHA, DOT, and local, state, and federal requirements. The role is designated safety sensitive and may involve pre-employment, post-incident, reasonable-suspicion, and random drug and alcohol testing. Requirements

At least 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL, or 1 year of equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
At least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and physical.
Hold a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air-brake endorsement or CDL Class B with an air-brake endorsement.
Strictly comply with safety rules and protocols; the safety-sensitive role may require drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

Operate the assigned vehicle in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and applicable laws.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document them using the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
Report unsafe situations and service-related issues promptly to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
Attend required training programs, briefings, and meetings.
Work with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and identify best practices.
Report incidents, accidents, injuries, and property damage to the Operations Manager.
Notify the Operations Manager or Dispatch about service interruptions, impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service, and potential safety hazards.
Communicate customer requests to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
Empty receptacles completely and leave customer locations clean and free of debris.
Follow assigned routes and complete end-of-day documentation and checkout.
Perform scheduled duties and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations.
Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity.
