CDL Truck Driver - Commercial

Waste Management, Inc. (WM)•Little Rock, AR

About The Position

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front-, side-, or rear-end load-lift attachments, depending on the business line and vehicle. They transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial drivers collect containers of waste or recyclable material, which may weigh more than 1,000 pounds and sometimes require maneuvering wheeled containers to a pickup stage area. Residential drivers collect household waste or recyclables and safely maneuver vehicles in residential settings. Roll-off drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. Across these assignments, drivers navigate busy and congested roads, driveways, alleyways, and lots; some routes involve tight overhead environments. Skilled backing maneuvers are essential. The position requires safe and reliable vehicle or equipment operation in compliance with company safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and applicable laws. Drivers perform vehicle inspections, document them, communicate service issues and customer requests, follow assigned routes, complete end-of-day documentation, and help meet customer needs. The role is designated safety-sensitive and may involve drug and alcohol testing. WM describes drivers as working hard and driving safely, with competitive pay, benefits, career-growth opportunities, and being home at night and on weekends.
