About The Position

Truck Drivers must possess a commercial driver’s license and current DOT medical card and be trained in safe driving best practices. Drivers will be responsible for daily customer deliveries and may assist with loading and unloading their vehicle and are responsible for ensuring the product is secure and delivered in a timely manner. Must comply and support all applicable GMP’s, Site Security, and Food Packaging Defense requirements that are referenced in the facilities of GFSI food packaging safety program.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years previous driving experience
  • Strong knowledge of safety and DOT regulations
  • Familiar with traffic laws and rules regarding rest, maximum miles driver, etc.
  • Possess a clean driving record and licenses.
  • Agree to annual driving records checks.
  • Physically fit and willing to submit to medical exam every two years.
  • Hand-eye coordination to coordinate hands, legs and eyes to maintain a fast reaction time
  • Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandates drivers are required to hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the color of traffic lights.
  • Commercial driver’s license
  • Current DOT medical card

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a class A Semi-truck and 53' trailer
  • Keep all DOT daily logs and fuel records accurate and current.
  • Perform thorough pre and post trip inspections
  • Drop and hook trailers, back into docks
  • Make sure all deliveries are on time
  • Inspect tractor and trailer & keep trailers clean & swept out.
  • Provide updates to Shipping/Customer Service on deliveries as needed
  • Stretch wraps products.
  • Ensure all loads are strapped and properly secured
  • Operates fork Truck
  • Move around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight schedules.
  • Ensures all units are recorded on proper paperwork.
  • Fills out pre-inspection forms
  • Inspects bales for damage
