About The Position

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a CDL Local Driver 1st shift. This role involves operating a Class 8 tractor/trailer and/or truck to deliver ceramic tile and other products. The driver will adhere to an assigned delivery schedule, follow all delivery requirements, and obey all regulatory agency and company safety directives. Communication with supervisors and customers is essential, as is performing thorough safety checks on the truck before departure. The role requires precise and timely completion of ELD logs and government paperwork, adherence to safety guidelines, company standards, and policies, and maintaining housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL license and a clean driving record
  • Two (2) years of over-the-road and/or local experience operating a Class 8 (80,000 GVW) tractor/trailer or successful completion of an accredited driving training school combined with one (1) year of over-the-road and/or local driving experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees
  • Must be available to work overtime as necessary and other shifts as necessary
  • Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class 8 tractor/trailer and/or truck to deliver ceramic tile and other products.
  • Adhere to an assigned delivery schedule, following all delivery requirements.
  • Obey all regulatory agency and company safety directives.
  • Call Supervisor to work with customers when necessary and report any instances of customer dissatisfaction.
  • Complete a thorough safety check on the truck before leaving domicile location to ensure that all delivery materials are firmly secured and all parts of the truck are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Obey all traffic laws and weight limits.
  • Call Supervisor and report any problems or irregularities with the truck or deliver.
  • Complete and file all ELD logs and required government paperwork in a precise and timely manner.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company standards, utilizing PPE as required.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform any other duties that may be required or assigned.
