About The Position
Fred Smith Company is seeking an experienced Lowboy Driver (CDL) to join their team. They are a self-perform heavy civil contractor working in North Carolina, and local candidates are preferred. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to bend, lift, stand, walk, climb, push, and pull, with the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed. Pay is commensurate with experience. All employees are eligible for benefits after 90 days, including health, dental, and vision insurance, and paid time off.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Class A CDL license with a positive driving history.
- Must have a current medical examiner's certificate (DOT med card).
Nice To Haves
- Local candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, including taking specific action to avoid incidents with the traveling public.
- Operate vehicles/equipment in a safe and efficient manner and follow instructions from management.
- Follow all equipment monitoring and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain DOT required logbooks.
- For Lowboy positions, move/operate and safely secure heavy construction equipment.
