About The Position

Empire Distributors, a leading beverage distributor, is now hiring a CDL Driver in Raleigh, NC. This position offers competitive wages, potential growth opportunities, and excellent benefits. The driver will be responsible for safely transporting materials, conducting daily inspections, delivering loads to various stores, performing routine maintenance, and utilizing telematics devices for routes and logs. Compliance with DOT regulations and company safety guidelines is essential. The role also involves completing training assignments and communicating any job deviations to management. This is a HOME DAILY position.

Requirements

Must have experience operating a tractor with automatic and manual transmission.
Must maintain a valid Class A driver's license.
Receive and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) Card at the time of physical examination.
Obtain and maintain valid state Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) permit.
Basic computer knowledge and Knowledge of Order Processing Systems.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Safely drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations.
Conducts daily pre-trip inspection of any tractor, trailer or pod equipment prior to departing warehouse.
Ensures pre-trip inspection reports are turned into management daily and that no truck with major operational safety issues are driven.
Delivers loads on trailer to mass box stores such as Total Wine, club stores and any other large loads. Will need to assist at times in delivering orders on 14' to 26' box trucks.
Delivers loaded straight trailer to warehouse of origin to be loaded for next day deliveries, assuring all products to be returned and/or credited are returned to the warehouse daily.
Performs routine maintenance on tractor and trailer which includes transporting to/from the servicing vendor location.
Proficient in the use of telematics devices; to include, but not limited to delivery routes and driver logs.
Maintains all applicable DOT paperwork and documentation as required.
Uses electronic devices to record start and stop times on our time clock device assuring hours of service are recorded and remain in compliance with DOT Regulations accurately and consistently.
Coordinates emergency repairs and/or service with applicable vendors while communicating with management. All service and/or repairs must be approved by management prior to being scheduled.
Communicate with management any and all deviations to the normal job responsibilities.
Completes training assignments by management in a timely manner, including but not limited to Worklete and Pro-Tread.
Performs job essential duties and responsibilities while being monitored via DriveCam.
Willing and able to work with or around all products that may be ordered by our customer.
Follows all safety guidelines and procedures as outlined by the company and by management.
Other duties as assigned by Transportation Manager.
