About The Position

We are seeking a CDL Training Instructor to join our team in the Moving I-4 Forward facility in Kissimmee, FL. This is an embedded position and will require 85% travel throughout the state of Florida. Your role will involve delivering classroom and hands-on instruction in CDL Class A driving, teaching general transportation construction practices, heavy equipment operation, and jobsite safety protocols. You will also develop and implement curriculum aligned with OSHA, industry standards, and workforce development goals, monitor trainee progress, track certification hours, and provide individualized coaching and mentorship. Additionally, you will prepare trainees for CDL exams through instruction in vehicle systems, mechanics, and pre-trip inspections, and support job placement efforts through coordination with program staff and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, highway construction, or related field.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) plus eight years related experience OR an Associates Degree in a related technical field plus six years related experience is required.
  • Valid CDL Class A License with a clean driving record.
  • Experience delivering training or mentoring in a workforce development or technical education setting.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Ability to operate and instruct on heavy equipment and CDL vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with simulator-based training preferred.
